    Outdoor classroom and permaculture garden Jume is a project within a larger informal education research and design initiative "Cēsis Pluriversity" established in the medieval town of Cēsis, Latvia. Jume is a community driven and curated outdoor classroom that is co-designed and created as a permaculture garden in order to critically respond not only to the conditions of pandemic and climate crises but also to bring into reality new ways of accumulating and sharing knowledge through permaculture.

    HygroShape is a first of its kind concept for self-shaping furniture. Using purely the natural, intrinsic properties of wood, furniture pieces are produced in an efficient and compact flat state, materially programmed to shape themselves when unpacked. It happens effortlessly, in silence, without human interaction, tools, or assembly instructions. The project uses material programming to harness the unique potentials of sustainable materials and practices.

    While the newly laid-out market square retreats to the maximum in its design through its homogeneity and unexciting nature, thus declaring the historic half-timbered buildings in Bad Salzdetfurth's old town the main actors, the revitalisation of the access to the Lamme River in the form of a stepped structure also forms the auditorium for marvelling at nature. The interaction of man and river is just as much a goal as the subtle mediation and great appreciation of the historical heritage.

    Prinsenpark is a new sustainable visitor centre for a historic landscape park. The project brings together visitor facilities, administrative offices, a forestry depot and workshops in an ensemble of refined timber buildings. Large pitched roofs with V-shaped gutters define the identity of the project that meets Passive-House standards and demonstrates circular building methods. The project provides access to an area where nature, culture and recreation are interwoven into a new ecosystem.

    A new green residential area is being developed on the site of the former hospital "De Lichtenberg" in the Dutch city of Amersfoort. The area has a rich culture and is characterized by - for Dutch standards - very sloped terrains which were created during the ice age. House Lichtenberg overlooks the whole historic city whilst being next to the rural forests of the Veluwe. An authentic environment to create a unique nature-oriented home on the border of this urban and rural area.

    The Rivers of Sofia

    The Rivers of Sofia: Connecting Rivers and the City

    Bulgaria
    The Rivers of Sofia project united citizens, experts, and the private sector in reviving rundown riverbanks that had been inaccessible since the 1940s. Architectural interventions, festivals, and a collaborative working group transformed the rivers into gathering space for diverse groups. It restored the rivers’ connection to the city and reclaimed a place for urban nature in Sofia. It also opened up civic and institutional dialogue about waterways’ future and catalysed long-term change.
