    Furniture shaped by nature

Using purely the natural, intrinsic properties of wood, furniture pieces are produced in an efficient and compact flat state, materially programmed to shape themselves when unpacked.     Maman la plus belle is an aromatic sculpture shaped as a boat (5x5x5 meters) set in Planoise district of Besançon, France. It is a place of cultures, of encounters where the artist offers ecological practices and aesthetic experiences for all audiences and at all ages. The sculpture incorporates composting bins to make it self-fertilized through citizen’s participation. It was carried out with the support of public authorities.

    While the newly laid-out market square retreats to the maximum in its design through its homogeneity and unexciting nature, thus declaring the historic half-timbered buildings in Bad Salzdetfurth's old town the main actors, the revitalisation of the access to the Lamme River in the form of a stepped structure also forms the auditorium for marvelling at nature. The interaction of man and river is just as much a goal as the subtle mediation and great appreciation of the historical heritage.

    Beaver Center is an ecological-educational-tourist station for observation and presentation of nature along Sotla river. It is built on the edge of the parched lake depression and partly levitates over the slope. This wooden-container-pavilion, with community spaces and with a central viewing staircase, has an info-point with a snack bar, a study, a gallery and a lecture hall. Construction is wooden. Larch facade interprets vernacular architecture and relates to cultural and natural environment.

We help to protect local nature environment by investing revenue and show the potential of sustainable nature-based tourism close to home.

    Design for an architectural rug (2022)

    Utilizing the weaving process as inspiration to reconnect the built environment, nature and people.

    My proposal is a kiosk made out of reused plattenbau panels whose form is inspired by the weaving process of Annie Albers. The design aims to interlace the natural landscape with the built environment until they are both speaking the same language in an almost rhythmic composition mimicking the weaving process that unifies separate components. The project aims to improve our relationship with nature by bringing the community of Dessau, Germany closer to their natural surroundings.
