On the 130th anniversary of the birth of the North American poet, playwright and feminist, Edna St. Vincent Millay, and on the cusp of the 100th anniversary of the awarding of the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry, for «The Ballad of the Harp Weaver», we recover one of the most influential female creative voices in 20th century culture, the modernist current and the interwar avant-gardes of the 1920s and 1930s.
She was the first woman to win the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1923, as it is known, and one of the few women to win it throughout her history. She is passionate about the moment with a strong social, feminist and activist commitment, she is a tireless fighter for Human Rights and for the care of her environment. In the stage adaptation of her life, the lived and written lines of her biography, her work, her vital and artistic concerns are outlined, which made her be as she was, along with other creators. who accompanied her. “My candle burns on both sides.
