    Va' Sentiero - The World's Longest Expedition

    A group of 7 young volunteers and an 8.000 km expedition. In the last 3 years we hiked the entire Sentiero Italia (world’s longest trek) in order to promote this incredible heritage with an original format based on real time storytelling, professional documentation of the whole trail and… active participation: as in the Forrest Gump movie, we invited the public to walk with us, giving life to a collective, grassroot experience which helped turn the spotlight on the Sentiero Italia.

    No construction or destruction, no waste or degradation but a respectful public space with high aesthetic value, natural therapeutic effect, authenticity and high level of participation - these are the characteristics of the first wood-based natural cemetery in Slovakia, which we set up in 2021. The funeral ceremonies take place under the trees and the ashes are buried to their roots. We brought the concept of natural burials to Slovakia and we are still the only ones who cultivate this topic.

    AB is characterized by the adaptation of the architecture to the surroundings: the bay between the Torres River, the Sant Josep stream and the cove, with the mountainous backdrop. The buildings, like imposing trees, rise on a stone pedestal and display their sinuous and organic forms that make up the large terraces at different heights. The philosophy of listening to and integrating the landscape is visible both in the forms and in the materials and colors drawn from the original landscape.

    The Rivers of Sofia: Connecting Rivers and the City

    The Rivers of Sofia project united citizens, experts, and the private sector in reviving rundown riverbanks that had been inaccessible since the 1940s. Architectural interventions, festivals, and a collaborative working group transformed the rivers into gathering space for diverse groups. It restored the rivers’ connection to the city and reclaimed a place for urban nature in Sofia. It also opened up civic and institutional dialogue about waterways’ future and catalysed long-term change.
